Money Advice Service
Age Concern Tyneside South is pleased to announce we have recently been awarded a grant from the Money Advice Service. The project will develop a service where patients aged 65+ can access free advice and support on planning and preparing financially for later life through their GP.
The project will recruit a team of experienced Wealth & Health Advisers offering home visits to give free, impartial advice on areas including; benefits, budgeting and future planning.
ACTS is currently working in partnership with South Tyneside Clinical Commissioning Group to deliver this social prescribing model that aims to incorporate local advice services into health provision. The aims are to identify the link between financial and emotional wellbeing and the extent to which older people respond to trusted messengers such as GP’s or health professionals to seek advice. These outcomes will then be used at a national level to inform future financial capability strategies for older people.
Further information will follow soon.
