Age Concern Tyneside South (ACTS) is an independent, local charity working in the Borough of South Tyneside supporting people over the age of 50.
Our Vision
That all older people living on South Tyneside can live fulfilling lives within supportive communities.
Our Mission
We will provide services and activities which maintain older people’s choice and control; improve well-being; and enable healthier and happier ageing. We will champion the issues important to older people and positively challenge negative perceptions of ageing.
Our Values
Our work is underpinned by a set of values which help us decide our priorities and inform how we work, both within the organisation and externally.

ACTS wants people in South Tyneside to enjoy their older age, free from poverty debt; maintaining control and choice over their affairs and activities for as long as possible; living independently, with support if needed; and feeling well connected with family and friends within supportive communities.
We want older people to feel less anxious or worried and more confident and connected, as a result of their experience with us.
Our People
We ensure all our staff have the appropriate training, are up to date with the latest developments in their areas of expertise and deal with all their contacts in an impartial, confidential and friendly way.
