Job Title: Community Development Worker

Hours:  28 hours per week

Salary:  £20,000 – 22,000 pro rata

Contract: Fixed Term, up to end of March 2023

Accountable to:  Community Development Manager

Location: South Tyneside

Age Concern Tyneside South (ACTS) is a registered charity which promotes the wellbeing of older people living in South Tyneside, improving their quality of life and helping them maintain their independence.

ACTS are looking for a passionate and committed person to help lead work which will make a real difference to the loneliness and social isolation experienced by older people on South Tyneside. The Community Development Worker will initiate and facilitate a programme of community engagement, build community capacity and work with older people targeting small communities in South Tyneside to address isolation, loneliness and inactivity through community participation. They will take the lead from older people in their areas to identify and establish activities and maximise individual client income by establishing information and advice outreach sessions in local neighbourhoods.
