Employment Vacancy – Locality Information and Advice Officer
Job Title: Information and Advice Officer
Hours: 35 hours per week Monday – Friday plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (job share considered)
Salary: £20,000 – 24,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: initially 12 months
Accountable to: Information and Advice Manager
Location: South Tyneside

We are seeking candidates willing to train to become advisors to work in our Information and Advice service and ‘Locality Team’ project. This project provides information and advice to clients with the aim of increasing financial inclusion to help improve physical and mental health wellbeing.
We are keen to hear from candidates who have, an understanding of the issues facing older people, experience of delivering excellent customer service and excellent communication skills with a track record of keeping accurate records.
You must be willing to train to support clients with a range of issues including benefits, housing, care, tax, budgeting and any other issue which may impact on client wellbeing. You will also be providing working age and older person benefits advice and supporting a wide range of clients to maximise their income.
As a member of the Information and Advice team, your role will include the delivery of information and advice from a variety of settings including, in-house, on home visits and at outreach locations in the community. You must have the ability to travel freely for work purposes.
