Our Board of Trustees, hailing from diverse backgrounds, provide robust governance to the organisation and bring a wealth of experience and expertise to Age Concern Tyneside South.

Cameron Ward – Chair
Cameron is an independent management consultant who works with public and charitable organisations. He has previously worked in the NHS for over 25 years and been an Executive Director and Chief Executive in various parts of the country. He was born in South Shields and has been a Trustee since 2017.

Margaret Adams
I have lived in south shields from 1989 am a mother and grandmother. In my working life I qualified as a nurse midwife social worker and teacher so a very varied experience. I have worked in many areas of the UK Europe and the middle east. In southtyneside I worked in the local authority as training manager ending my working life with the then PCT mental health commissioning team. I have been a keen advocate of community involvement throughout my life in retirement I was pleased to chair or serve on the board of a number of voluntary sector organisations I spent many years as Healthnet chair working closely with health public health social care Local authority ensuring the voluntary sector voice was an integral part of decision making in the area striving to improve the quality of the health and wellbeing of the people. I continue my involvement in local and regional networks until recently was public governor for southtyneside with CNTW. With age experience and expertise I hope to be a useful member of the ACTS board as they move forward with their excellent services

Ann Trollope
When I retired ten years ago I joined the Zumba class and never looked back. Had my ups and downs but Age Concern and dancing has got me through. I’ve made great friends while enjoying keeping fit. I became a Trustee quite a while ago and enjoy giving something back in supporting our local community.
